After the last post on Chevrolet Parts and Accessories, heralded in some new pages on this site specially prepared with fancy eBay windows displaying laser-targeted lists of Chevrolet parts, it seems the Gremlins got into the works and mussed up the page names.
If you clicked on the pages and got an error saying the page don’t exist, well we’ve fixed that now, so you should be able to get into all the new pages to find those Chevrolet parts and accessories you were looking for. So please accept our apologies for the hiccup and hopefully things have bedded down and gotten back to normality once again!

Following on from our last post Focus On Chevrolet Chicago Truck Club, where we featured the Chevrolet Chicago Truck Club, we’ll turn our attention to something really useful that we can do for you.
When it comes to getting hold of Chevrolet parts if you like to do your own repairs and maintenance, it can sometimes be a breeze or it can sometimes be a hassle! Well, we figured it might be of some help if we gave you the option to get your hands on the Chevrolet parts from right where you are now - sitting in front of the computer or laptop reading this!
Yep, we’ve gotten hold of some really nice code courtesy of eBay that allows us to show you live windows to their online auctions. I bet that there’s plenty of you that never figured eBay as a source of Chevrolet parts, but there you’d be wrong!
Its the biggest online store for just about anything and that includes automobile parts and accessories, so to give you a chance to see for yourself without going over to eBay itself - which, let’s face it can be a bit daunting if you’re not that familiar with it being so vast.
We’ve put up some extra pages on this site that are dedicated to particular areas of Chevrolet parts and accessories, so you’ll see, to your right under the “Pages” heading, things like: Chevrolet Parts or Corvette Parts etc. Just click on whichever one of them is close to what you’re looking for and you’ll open the page displaying the live window to eBay. Its a live hook-up, so all the timings and bids are in real time, meaning that if you refresh the page every few minutes, you’ll see the numbers change!
We hope you find this service useful - and its free to use. No charge!
Now ain’t that nice of us?

Here at Chevrolet Chicago, we’re following on from the last post Chevrolet Chicago Corvette Club, where we looked at the local Chevrolet Chicago Corvette Club, we’ll take a look at some of the safety features that are being incorporating into automobiles built by Chevrolet. Chicago locals will find this interesting.
When it comes to Chevrolet Chicago motoring, your family’s safety matters more than anything. Whether you’re just driving on a short errand around town or you’re off on a cross-country road trip, you’ll be glad to know that totally committed to safety is Chevrolet. Chicago locals know that means keeping you and your family safe from the beginning of your journey right the way to your destination.
Most Chevrolet Chicago owners’ vehicles that are built today come with comprehensive safety and security features designed to help protect you and your family in most models produced by Chevrolet. Chicago drivers can rest easy.
Well, what does that all mean?
Well, before you even get into your Chevrolet, Chicago dwellers have the assurance that safety is well catered for with a host of features such as:
ABS: The Anti-Lock Braking system helps you to maintain steering control by reducing the effect of wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery surfaces.
Traction Control: This highly important safety feature helps to reduce wheel spin under acceleration on surfaces that are slippery. Most traction control systems combine the ABS speed sensors with brakes along with a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to help your vehicle’s tyres maintain traction on the road.
DRLs: Daytime Running Lamps are basically reduced-intensity lights on the front of vehicles designed to automatically illuminate when the vehicle is started. They’re function is to make the vehicle easier to see by other drivers and also pedestrians, in a variety of daytime conditions you may encounter whilst driving, such as fog, mist, rain and bright sunlight. For Chevrolet Chicago drivers, they have to deal with pretty much all of those conditions and more.
Why have DRLs? Well, they help reduce crashes and injuries, thereby saving lives. DRLs are most effective in preventing collisions when a vehicle is pulling out in front of another vehicle, changing lanes on multi-lane roads or passing other vehicles on two-lane rural roads.
DIC: The Driver Information Center keeps the driver informed of key vehicle functions while you’re on the road. Depending on which vehicle you are driving, the DIC displays various information including door ajar, trunk open, change oil, hot coolant temperature, low oil pressure, low fuel, low washer fluid etc.
StabiliTrak: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study estimated that the addition of electronic stability control systems to every vehicle could mean as many as 10,000 fatal crashes are avoided in the U.S. annually.
The StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System fitted to many Chevrolet Chicago models helps you stay the course by detecting the difference between the steering wheel angle and the direction the vehicle is actually turning. StabiliTrak analyzes information such as steering wheel position, amount of sideways force in play, speed of the vehicle and vehicle’s response to steering wheel position. The system then uses the brakes and, if necessary, adjusts the engine torque to help you keep your vehicle on track.
So for Chevrolet Chicago drivers, there’s a whole heap of safety features incorporated into your Chevrolet Chicago vehicle. We’ll look at more safety features in a later article here at the Chevrolet Chicago information site.
